It's Saturday and you had really planned to have fun this weekend. After a very busy and demanding week, you feel like you really deserve it. You had planned to maybe go to the beach, go on a picnic with friends, go see a movie, or maybe just go on a long, therapeutic drive on an empty stretch of road. But you wake up in the morning to the pitter-patter sound of raindrops on your roof. You think the drizzle will stop soon, but it becomes a storm and doesn't stop. Plans ruined! No more outing obviously. But rather than just sleep in all through the day, there are fun indoor activities you could do.
1. Cook something new
Make yourself a treat. You might not have a wide range of ingredients at home, but you can take a look at what you do have and google what kind of recipes you could make with them, you would be surprised at how much resources you would find.
2. Download E-books
Being in all day gives you time to either get to read those novels and books that you already have (hard or soft copies) or download new books that interest you to read.
3. Movie marathon
Rainy days are perfect for catching up on all the movies you've been wanting to see, or re watching your favorite old ones. You can also watch your favorite TV programs.
4. DIY Projects
Being indoor all day is a great time to try your hands on DIY projects. There are quite a couple on this blog that you could try, or you could search for others that interest you online.
5. Explore your artistic side
If you've got an artistic nature, a rainy day is a perfect day to explore it. What are you good at? Drawing, painting, writing, graphics, etc, start a project on it.
6. Re-decorate your house
Your house has had that same look for so long, why not seize the opportunity to move your furniture around? Rearranging furniture goes a long way in giving your space a new look, even without any new additions, and it's fun!
7. Move to the next level
Have you been stuck at a level of a game you like? Now you have the time to take up the challenge and finally conquer that level and move up.
8. Do Dress Rehearsals
A rainy weekend is a good time to plan what you are going to wear for the coming week and look them over or try them on to make sure colors and styles match and they are all in good condition. It's fun plus it gets you ready for the week!
9. Exercise
Exercise should not be a once in a while thing, but since you are stuck indoors all day anyway, you have no excuse. Set up a playlist of your favorite music and get your body moving. Even dancing could be exercise.
10. Research
You have all the time on your hands, you might as well do that research that you've been meaning to do. It could be research into the life of someone you respect or about some topic or the other that you find interesting. Just make yourself some snacks and hot chocolate and enjoy yourself.
