8 Secret (But Now, Not So Secret) Places To Hide Stuff At Home

Funny title right? Well, since this is getting published and you are not the only one who will read it, I guess the secret spots are not so secret again after all. It's still good to know nice hiding places for small cash and valuables (or whatever else you don't want people to find e.g letters, please, not illegal stuff, I am not there o!), chances are that other people won't readily think of these locations as hideouts, so read on. (I hope no burglar stumbles on this). This is a particularly useful skill if you have to share your accommodation with people you don't really trust.

1. Out in the garden - wrap the money or valuables in a plastic bag and bury it. Be sure to cover up the fresh soil and also mark it so you'll be able to find it later.

2. Inside your old shoes. Do this if and only if you don't have rats in the house, also take the precaution of wrapping them in plastic or nylon.

3. Inside empty coffee tins in the pantry.

4. Inside pillow pockets. you know all those pretty little pillows that have pockets sewn into them. Make sure you spread it out evenly so that there are no giveaway lumps.

5. In a large hollow book on the bookshelf. This is a common hideout, yet it almost always works, maybe because burglars don't always have time to go through all the voluminous books sitting on a big book shelf.

6. In the laundry, inside empty bottles of home cleaning things.

7. Spoilt cell phone casing. For example, I have an old Motorola flip phone that is so outdated, no one will thing twice about it.

8. Inside a picture frame.

Remember that the most important quality of a good hider is creativity, next to that is the ability to remember your own hiding locations. Nothing can be worse than effectively hiding something away only for the hideout to become a secret to you too!
