How many times have you bought a watermelon and it ended up being almost white on the inside, tasteless and dry? That's annoying, but you can actually predict how a watermelon will look and taste on the inside by just looking out for some signs on the outside. Even a watermelon gives out it's secrets, all you need to do is know what to look for.
Eeeww right? You can avoid getting this! |
1. A yellow field spot
The presence of this creamy yellow spot tells you that the watermelon was harvested at the right time, always look out for this spot.
2. Make sure it's heavy
Lol, I guess you get the idea. |
Always go through the whole lot of them, the heavier, the better - it means its juicier.
3. Pick the dull ones with darker skin
There is a saying that 'the darker the berry, the sweeter the juice', the same hold true for watermelons. The one with the very shiny green skin color signal that they might be under ripe, it's safer to pick the ones with a dull green skin color.
So, there you go. Go round up those perfect watermelons!
