Man, woman, Young, old, pimples is probably a pesky skin problem that most of us deal with or have had to deal with at some point or the other. In fact, statistics have it that acne affects 90% of teenagers and between 50 - 60% of adults. I fervently wish that I belong to that lucky minority group that has never had a pimple problem. The good news however is that you can be rid of them - without exposing your face to harsh chemicals!
The first line of defense against pimples shouldn't be all sorts of skin creams and lotions, always try to leave those for last if necessary. Here are the things you can do instead:
1. Wash your face regularly. Avoid harsh medicated soaps that can strip your face of necessary natural oils, use mild toilet soap instead.
2. Carry facial wipes around to clean your face with whenever you know you won't have access to soap and water.
3. Identify the triggers that cause a pimple outbreak for you and avoid them like a plague, examples of triggers may be butter/margarine, groundnuts, oil etc. Make sure you know your triggers
4. Keep a clean pillowcase. A dirty pillowcase is a carnival ground for bacteria which will get transferred to your face. Try changing pillowcases 2-3 times a week.
5. Reduce your use of makeup as much as you can, let your face breathe!
6. Try to avoid squeezing and popping them, this just causes them to turn into blackheads and blackheads can be even more hideous. Popping them also break your skin, leaving more open spots that can be entry routes for more bacteria.
7. Avoid touching your face as much as possible. Your hands are hot spots for dirt and bacteria as you use them for so many things.
I wish you success as you progress on your journey to pimple free skin. You can see some home remedies to help you along here.
