It appears the era of 'best friends forever' is gradually coming to an end with the advent of smart phones that seem to be all you need. I saw an article recently that started with the words "who needs friends when I've got my smart phone?". I guess you are thinking it can't really be that bad, but your smart phone might just be replacing your best friend if you are 'guilty' of most of the following:
- Your phone is the first thing you think of, look at and interact with when you wake up.
- It.s also the last thing you see before you fall asleep.
- It knows more about you than any one else.
- It's the first thing you look to when you want to relax and relieve stress.
- It's within your reach every minute of your entire day.
- You can't stand to switch it off for any length of time, even in an exam, church or a meeting, you would rather put it on a silent profile.
- You have to charge it every day, or several times a day to ensure you always have a full battery.
- When it does go off due to an empty battery, you get upset up to the point of depression
- You feel lost and alone without it.
- It sleeps beside you, probably under your pillow.
- You wake up whenever it beeps at night, even if you just slept off 20 minutes ago.
- You pretend to be busy with your phone to avoid talking to people often.
- It is impossible for you to forget your phone.
- If ever your phone gets stolen, you feel and act like someone died!
So, are you noticing the signs?
