When your jeans get faded, you can dye them again to give them new life. When they shrink, you can do your best to expand them again (or lose some weight so you can fit back into them), When jeans expand (very unlikely), you can reshape them to fit you, but what do you do when they get torn in the wrong places or get just too old to wear? How about when you just get tired of them? Do you throw them out?
You really shouldn't just throw them out anymore. You can remake them into really pretty bags. You can use the bags for storage in your room or sew on a strap and you've got a nice, new, limited edition , casual shoulder bag at no cost (just don't take them out to places that where there are pickpockets).
What You Need To Make Them
- Pair of jeans
- Scissors
- Sewing thread
- Embellishments
How To Do The Transformation
Snip off the bottom part of the leg – where you cut all depends on how deep you want your bag to be. Then flip the piece of material inside-out and sew the cut part closed. Since you want the bag to have a rounded base so that it can stand upright on its own, you’ll need to sew the two inside corners.
When that’s done, flip it the right way, and that’s really all there is to it! If you’re making this with your daughter, then this is the part where you can hand it over to her to decorate however she likes.
