Martin Luther had a dream, Obama had a dream and now Eunice Akoth has a dream. If the lives of Martin Luther and Obama are anything to go by, then surely, we will see Eunice's dream become reality too. In deed, her dream is already taking her places.
Eunice is a sixth-grader at Kibera’s all-girls school, the first of its kind, co-founded by Kennedy Odede and Jessica Posner Odede. The husband and wife team behind the Shining Hope For Communities foundation—which pairs free education with health care, clean water, and other social services—accompanied Akoth to the Summit.

"Most of the kids in Kibera are raped, some are neglected by their parents, some are homeless," Eunice said at the Women in the World summit. “Most of them have dreams, but they don't know how they can achieve them."
She's starting to figure out how to achieve her own with some welcomed help.
Eunice says that "growing up as a girl in Kibera is hard work, but if you trust in yourself, you can make it here." She believes in herself and her school believes in her, too. She was invited to speak in New York City at the 2015 Women in the World Summit, along with the founders of her school. It was at the summit that she delivered her poem 'my dream' with tears in her eyes and a lot of passion that held the audience of thousands spellbound.
