Not too long ago, my church was running a campaign on responsible citizenship. One of the high points of the campaign was summarized in two words - "don't litter!" It's amazing how people would be inside their cars with the windows all wound up, cooling off in the air conditioning only for the to lower their windows just to throw trash onto the road! It hurts! It's even more amazing to note that these same people will be the ones to complain that the streets are dirty. They think that after all, some people are being paid to clean up the roads, and they might as well actually have work to do. Well, if you think that way, or know anyone who does, you or such persons need to know this:
That one Gala nylon and one empty Fanta bottle you throw away in traffic adds to the several hundreds and thousands other people like you throw. The rain falls and washes them into the gutters, the drainages get blocked, the roads get flooded, water bodies get polluted, you have to 'wade in the waters' to get anywhere and then you begin to curse the government. Oh wait, but it started with you!
So, what's the point of your education?
With that said... *Puts hands in pockets, whistles a merry tune and strolls away!*....
