What's there like good old yummy pancakes to enjoy on a Saturday morning? I got inspired to make myself a stack of 'em pancakes this morning. It was easy as you please and tasted amazing too. The cool thing about pancakes apart from being easy to make is that you don't have to go looking for special ingredients, you probably already have everything sitting in your fridge or kitchen counter! All you need is...
1. One and a half cups of white flour
2. 3 tablespoons of melted butter or margarine
3. A pinch of salt (you can skip the salt if you are using margarine, it's salted already)
4. 1 tablespoon of white sugar
5. 1 large egg
6. Two tablespoons of powdered milk.
7. Some maple syrup or honey
So, you just mix all of that together in a bowl and add water till you have a mixture of thick consistency. It doesn't matter if a pancake batter is a bit lumpy. A hack is to pour you batter into a tomato ketchup container for easy and non messy cooking. When all of that is set, you are ready to cook your pancakes. Heat up your pan (try to stick to low heat to avoid making burnt offerings) and pour some batter in, just like in the image below. Cook until both sides are nicely browned, stack them up and dribble your syrup or honey all over it!
I didn't have maple syrup or any other syrup (awww), so I used honey and the taste was amazing all the same, and filling too. Here is what mine looked like:
And by the time I was done with breakfast, this was all that was left:
...*belch*.... excuse me. Lol.
Tip: If you want to make pancakes on a busy weekday morning, just make the batter the night before and put it in the fridge, all you have to do in the morning is cook 'em and you are all set!
Ciao
