The Question Of Size: Fat, Thin, Or Somewhere In Between

The question of size has always been a big deal particularly with women. Too many of the female folk are obsessed with their size. Funny thing about size is that, like fashion, the trends come and go. I remember a time when fat was beautiful and the African men loved their women fleshy (remember the Phat Girls movie?), then came the time where nobody wanted to be fat, just curvy and rounded. Now, it's so bad that nearly every girl has a tape rule in a bag and a calorie counting app on her phone! Plus, as you can imagine, the market for all sorts of expensive fad diets, weight loss juices and shakes and all sorts of impractical weight loss regimens is booming big time.

With regards to this matter of size, there is an important point to note that cannot be over emphasized, although, unfortunately, this point seems to elude a lot of people which is: learn to be comfortable in your own skin! Love your own body. In Madea's voice "ain't no one gonna love you if you ain't lovin' yourself, sister". It's definitely fine to want to keep fit and healthy, and also lose some weight when you think you'll look better that way. What is totally unacceptable is when you go around feeling so self conscious about your weight that you are unable to just live your life and be happy.

There is this story currently making the rounds on social media about Eniola Kashaam a newly wedded fat girl who was told she was never going to get married because she was too fat. Thankfully, this bold woman didn't get weighed down by low self esteem and self confidence, she got working to lose some weight, which she did and today, she is one happy woman.

See him gaping..............brought him down to his knees in a hurry, fat girl or not!

The trick is to fall in love with yourself (not so deeply that you become wrapped up in yourself though), and to learn to see beauty in your body, whatever it's size. Invest in clothes that fit your body shape and size, don't go squeezing into a size 10 dress when you are a size 14, that's just plain disgusting. If you feel you are too big and need to cut down, then get started already, just don't obsess over whatever weight loss regimen you decide on, and do away with those people that make you feel bad about your body (they surely aren't doing you any favors).

Tip: Please don't spend all your money on all of those expensive 'weight loss packages' out there, I'm not trying to spoil the market o, I'm just saying you really don't have to spend a fortune to lose a couple of kilos. Just eat less, eat healthy and exercise regularly.

They kinda both look good to me...in different ways.
I'm still waiting for a time when thin girls would start obsessing on getting fat too though, do you think that time will ever come? Sigh!

Ciao!
