CANCER ALERT: Stay Away From This Powder!

I am not trying to spoil market for anybody o, but I have been seeing alerts about this powder recently and I think people need to know and then make their own decisions. Many people (women, mostly) would rather use baby powder than regular talcum, but apparently, talcum is the real culprit.

Most reports however, have been about a particular baby powder - Johnson's baby powder. Johnson's baby powder has been reported to increase the risk of ovarian cancer in women by 33%! There is an article on Salon titled 'why aren't they warning women about this?', and really, why aren't they?

Interestingly, this discovery had been made since way back in 1981, yet most women don't know about the dangers of using talcum powder and the cosmetic manufacturers have kept churning them out. It is advised that women desist from using Johnson's baby powder (and indeed every talcum containing powder) on themselves and their babies. A safe alternative for babies is petroleum jelly, and for adults, it is safe to use corn starch based powder to achieve the same result of smooth skin.

Always read the labels on any cosmetic before purchasing it!
