7 Shoes Every Woman Should Own

Shoes have long transcended the status of simply protecting the feet. They make a fashion statement all by themselves now. Wear the right outfit and the wrong shoes, you end up having a collosal fashion fail. The say men can make do with a single pair of shoes for just about anything, for women, that just won't do. When you get comfortable in particular type of footwear, you tend to collect several of that same type and ignore others (for example, I own way too many flat ballerinas!) Fashionistas however agree that there are atleast 7 basic shoe types every woman should own at least one pair of.

Whatever you do, make sure you keep your heels comfortable for you. It's always heartbreaking to see women swaying and staggering in their shoes because they are way too high for comfort. If you must wear 7 inch high heels, make sure you feel comfortable and confident enough that you could walk a tight rope in them if need be.

A basic black pump in suede or leather is the ultimate go-to, they pull together any outfit and add instant sophistication.

A barely-there ankle-strap sandal goes with just about anything and lengthens your legs. They come in different heights and shapes - stiletto heels, wedges, block heels, flats, etc.

BALLET FLATS

The quintessential run-around shoe, and a preppy-wardrobe staple. I can't imagine what I would do without them! They are the perfect definition of 'sensible shoes'.

Snakeskin or leopard heels add sultry style to your look. You might want to keep them out of the office though.

PLATFORM WEDGES

Wedges lend a lot of height and a lot of style. Wedges are also more comfortable and well balanced than stilettos. At least I prefer them!
CASUAL SNEAKERS

A fashionable sneaker is the perfect weekend shoe, pair it with jeans and dresses alike.

FLAT SANDALS
