For The Love Of Food: Avocado Pear Never Looked Better!


I've never really liked Avocados. How could I when I was taught to eat it by sprinkling some salt over it and 'just eat it'. That is definitely not the best way to enjoy something tht has the potential of being so good. When I started to learn of pasta recipes with creamy avocado sauce, I realized Avocados aren't so bad afterall. But when I saw this Indonesian Avocado shake by Tastemade, it felt like someone gave me a pat on the back and said "welcome to the good life."


By the time you've also learnt how to make this super creamy avocado shake called Es Pokat, you'll agree its the good life too. It's even very easy to make. All you need is some icecubes, some chocolate, sugar and ofcourse, avocados. 4 avocados make 2 tall glasses.

You can start by making a simple syrup by adding 1/3 cup of sugar to 1/3 cup of boiling water and stirring till all the sugar dissolves. Take it off the heat and let it cool down. 

Half the avocados and remove their seeds


Now, pour icecubes and syrup into a blender, scoop out the avocados and add those too and blend.


It starts to look really good pretty soon, just like this...


And don't forget you are having this delightful shake with some chocalte syrup


Use it as a topping or even a base and what you have at the end of the day is this:
