The Inspiring Woman Who Flies Planes Without Arms

"I don't see my not having arms as a limitation" - Jessica Cox

When people who have two hands and two feet come around me begging for alms on the road, I usually just go past them without giving them anything, and I never feel guilty about it. I do that not because I dislike them or anything like that but because I see no reason why a full, able bodied person should go around begging alms. I have seen several lame and blind people doing things to earn money for themselves, what I have never seen before now however is a woman with no arms flying a plane and she does not even use prosthetics! Now that is truly amazing. If she can do all these, Then You And I Have No Excuse.

Jessica Cox was born without arms but she has never let that stop her. She even does Taekwondo (so don't think she is defenseless, she has a black belt!), she plays the piano, she swims..., she does a lot more than people with two arms. If that does not challenge you, I really don't know what will.

I think Jessica's parents are also heroes. They refused to let her feel like she was limited even though she did not have arms, they loved her regardless and pushed her to test her limits and push the boundaries. Her mum was a real champion - registered her for gymnastics, dance, piano and swimming lessons from when she was really young. Some other woman would have kept her locked away in the house!

When next you are tempted to say you can't, think of Jessica and make sure you push to become the best you can be, inspite of whatever challenges you may face.

Oh, by the way, Jessica is a motivational speaker now, she shares her story and experiences to encourage people.

In the final analysis, limitations only exist in our minds.
